I’ve been wanted to make this pie for some time now.. Every time I saw my bag with whole wheat, this recipe winked at me from the back of the bag
As most of the recipes I try, this one is really easy, but the Swedish way to measure weight in volume (as I mentioned to you before) might set you off. All you need is:
3 dl whole wheat flour
125 gr butter or margarine, cold
2 – 3 tbl cold water
300 g broccoli
2-3 dl grated cheese
3 eggs
2 dl milk
1/2 tsp salt
white pepper
Add together the flour and margarine until a breadcrumb consistency. Add water and work quickly into a dough. Press the dough into an ungreased pie plate (preferably with removable bottom), about 24 cm in diameter. Prick the bottom with a fork.
Pre-bake pie shell 15 minutes.
Blanch the broccoli a few minutes in lightly salted water. Let it drain.
Whisk together milk and eggs and spice.
Distribute the vegetables and cheese in the pre-baked pie shell. Add the egg mixture above.
Continue to bake in the bottom of the oven for 30-35 minutes, until egg mixture has hardened and golden.
